Huskies Replay | Washington State 42, Washington 35
The good: QB Jake Locker showed he was back in good health, rushing for more than 100 yards for the third time this season, and broke the Pac-10 record for rushing yards in a season. He has 910. The special teams had their best game of the season, including Louis Rankin’s return of the opening kickoff for a TD and a solid night from punter Jared Ballman (47.2 average).
The bad: The season is now in the certifiably disappointing category. The defense, after signs of life the previous three weeks, regressed to midseason form in giving up big play after big play. The offense, which had a solid day numbers-wise, misfired in a few key situations with turnovers and penalties that turned the momentum WSU’s way.
