Book-It names new manager

Book-It Repertory Theatre didn’t have to look very far for its new managing director. The position will go to Charlotte Tiencken, the Seattle-based administrator who has been the Seattle theater company’s interim manager since August.

Previous to her work with Book-It, Tiencken had a short tenure managing the Tacoma Actors Guild. That theater disbanded in March under the weight of cumulative financial problems.

Tiencken has other wide-ranging local and national experience as an arts administrator, including a stint as director of the Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival in Massachusetts. She will move into her permanent position at Book-It, which specializes in adapting literary fiction for the stage, on Dec. 1.
